For those visitors and their families who like lighthouses, there is the Port Robinson Lighthouse, located on Maury Island in Puget Sound. This lighthouse was built in 1915 and makes a great backdrop for beachcombing or a family picnic. The lighthouse is halfway between Tacoma and Seattle. Maury Island is accessible from the narrow paved road on the larger Vashon Island.
