Kent is a suburb of Seattle and is the corporate home of REI and Oberto Sausage. There are many different things for visitors to do and see in and around Kent, Washington. For visitors who have their children along, there is the Turnkey Park. This park offers a drinking fountain, public art, gravel trails, benches, open space, playground equipment, two tennis courts, and half basketball courts. This State Park offers visitors with the opportunity to view Puget Sound and the study of sea life. The park also offers camping with a dump station, 27 utilities, and 114 tent spaces. Another attraction is the Soos Creek Trail in nearby Covington. This Kent trail is great for a horse ride, a ride on some inline skates, or a bike ride. There is seldom a crowd and traffic is usually light. There are seldom any pollutants in Soos Creek and there are some very lush green banks. The Soos Creek Trail is a great place to unwind especially if the visitor is on business. The best way to access this trail is by way of Gary Grant Park. One of the more exciting things to do in Kent is for visitors and their families to go to the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum. This museum has an extensive collection of memorabilia that dates as far back as the early 1900ís such as trophies, photographs, newspapers, race programs, magazines, and books. This museum is the only public museum that is solely dedicated to racing powerboats racing. This museum also has a collection of rare old hydroplanes that spans 70 years including some boats that have won numerous trophies. For those visitors and their families who enjoy a leisurely bicycle ride around beautiful big leaf maple trees, huckleberries, evergreen trees, cedar trees, lush sword ferns, and thick walls of brush they have to look no further than Lake Young. In spite of the many different keep out and no trespassing signs, this bicycle trail is perfectly mannered and very mellow. There is very little climbing, and almost all of the dirt and gravel trails are very easy to navigate and very well maintained.
